BMW Plasti Dipped Rims

Everyone has there own opinion on the Plasti Dip craze that is going on right now.  In fact many people in Eugene have started to add this service to there shops list of services.  We believe you can really change the look of a car with some simple steps.
  1. Clean the rims of the vehicle very good. (no dirt at all....anywhere)
  2. Mask off the brakes..this is important so you don't get plasti dip on the pads or rotars
  3. Apply plasti dip to your rims
  4. Shake the can (if that's what you are using) for 60 seconds
  5. Use a heat gun to dry the plasti dip or simply let it dry on it's own
  6. Continue to re-apply over and over untill rims looks complete.
This entire process will take you several hours and depending on your skill 4-6 cans of plasti dip.  You WILL make mistakes on your first 5-10 cars but once you get the hang of it...it's cake.

If you are not interested in DIY simply give us a call at Trifer - 541-461-7000 or visit us on the web at http://www.eugenewindowtinting.com/plastic-dipping.html

Matte Black Tundra Wrap

So I was visiting San Diego and of course taking in all the beautiful sites and sounds.  I believe I was around Pacific Beach if my memory serves me right.  Long story short I saw the coolest looking Toyota Tundra I had ever seen.

The vehicle was brand new....but it was matte black.  Now some people are not into the flat/matte black look and I understand that.  I happen to be one of the people who does like the look.

At that point I decided that I someday wanted a Flat/Matte Black Tundra.

Well I bought myself a Tundra in 2010 and I really like the truck.  Although the color in my opinion was kinda old man-ish (maroon) - I could not pass up the screaming deal I got on it.

Fast forward a couple years - I learned that painting it would not only be expensive, it would also de-value the truck because many buyers would not want a matte black truck.  Having the ability to take off the wrap at anytime was very appealing to me.

So we began to wrap away...Here is what the process looked like.

We will update this post later when the black running boards are added and the new Grill is added.

Lithia Nissan of Eugene on Trifer

Having businesses around the Eugene area endorse your business is a bid deal...well at least to us it is.  We know many businesses do not like places their stamp of approval on other businesses in fear of them screwing up and it reflecting bad on the endorser.

Lithia Motors is a big company and we are proud that they send all of the window tinting work they have to us over at Trifer.  Here is a short clip that was recorded the other day of one of the Sales Managers at Lithia Nissan giving Trifer some kudo's.

Thanks again Lithia Nissan of Eugene, We appreciate your business.

This is hopefully 1 of many blog post's that we will try to update as the summer goes on.  We thought we would start with a job that was pretty fun for us to do.  As a window tinting company in Eugene Oregon you see your fair share of window tinting jobs.

It has been a goal of everyone at Trifer Glass & Window Tint to really start jumping into new adventures and trying new things on vehicles.  As you can imagine many of the dealers that we work with are not as adventure minded as us sometimes.

Brian, the general manager of Sheppard VW in Eugene decided he wanted to make one of the new style VW beetle look like the old VW.

Obviously, we made a few changes such as changing the roof from white to Black with some 3M 1080 wrap.  We did this just to give off a bit of contrast and make the vehicle pop a bit more. For the wheels we used Plasti Dip.  Plasti Dip is a very easy way to change the look of your vehicle.  For $50-$100 you can DIY.  We obviously recommend letting a pro do it because there is a learning curves that we have found over doing many vehicles.

So as we finish our first Blog post on cool stuff we do, we will wrap it up with going over exactly what was done on this specific vehicle.

  1. Tinted Windows (Johnson's Marathon Film)
  2. Plasti-Dip Rims (4 Cans of Plasti-Dip)
  3. 3m 1080 Gloss Black Wrap.
  4. Material Costs - $200-$250
If you have a VW Beetle and you want to give it that cool old school look.  This little guide should give you an easy road map to getting it completed.

As always, If you are in need of window tinting or any other cool upgrade to your vehicle and you live in the Eugene, Springfield or outlying areas - Feel free to give us a call at Trifer - 541-461-7000 or visit our main site at http://www.eugenewindowtinting.com
